How to make Homemade Eyeshadow with Household Items

0

Homemade eyeshadow sounds like quite strange but that’s not something impossible. Though some people do consider this impossible and that’s the reason I’m here to prove you guys wrong. Homemade eyeshadow is all natural, all pure without any side effects and you can use it as you want and as you like.

Just make sure you have following ingredients with you and you know the basic procedure that I’m going to state.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE BASE

  • Shea Butter
  • Arrowroot Powder
  • Cocoa powder
  • Turmeric
  • Nutmeg
  • Allspice
  • Dried beet fine powder

DIRECTIONS

To start with, place ¼ tsp. of arrowroot powder. (You can also add ½ tsp). This is because the more of this powder you will add, the more delicate will be the colour of your eyeshadow. So you can add according to your desire but you always add less in start.

Now add other spices like nutmeg, turmeric, dried beet and all spice and mix well until the colour is according to what you desire.

Once the powders are well mixed, now add ½ tsp. of shea butter and with the help of small spoon or a wooden stick mix this paste like mixture until soft and creamy. Shea butter is used to help the eyeshadow stick on your eyes and it will give moisturized look.

COLOUR OPTIONS

PALE PINK:

Arrowroot powder: ½ tsp.
Dried beet powder: ½ tsp.
Cocoa powder: 1/8 tsp.
Shea Butter: ¼ to ½ tsp.

MAUVE:

Arrowroot powder: ½ tsp.
All spice: ¾ tsp.
Dried beet powder: ¾ tsp.
Cocoa powder: ¼ tsp.
Shea Butter: ¼ to ½ tsp.

LIGHT BROWN:

Arrowroot powder: ½ tsp.
Cocoa powder: ¾ tsp.
Shea Butter: ¼ to ½ tsp.

GOLDEN BROWN:

Arrowroot powder: ½ tsp.
Nutmeg: ¾ tsp.
Turmeric: ¼ to ½ tsp
Shea Butter: ¼ to ½ tsp

Since I know arrowroot powder is not something available easily so I have a substitute for this ingredient. You can use corn-starch as well. But try to get arrowroot powder because it is lighter and quite fine for the paste.

Dried beet powder is available in the market but if not than you may take a beet, cut it in cubes and dehydrate them for some hours and blend in a mixer than dry again for few hours. As simple as that.
